DuoFertility Sensor
The DuoFertility sensor is roughly the size of a small coin. It is worn under the arm where it is held in place with a specially designed adhesive or armband. The sensor continuously collects around 20,000 temperature measurements every day, recording your body basal temperature. This data is then used to identify when ovulation? has occurred, which will in turn help to identify your fertile days and the best time for you to have intercourse.
Unlike other fertility monitors, with DuoFertility, you don’t have to worry about measuring your temperature every day – all you have to do is wear the sensor and get on with the rest of your life! We recommend that you wear the sensor continuously in order to improve the accuracy of your temperature measurements. If you wish to you can remove it during the day, but it is very important that you remember to put it back on when you go to bed so that data is available for every single night.
DuoFertility Reader
Every few days the data on your sensor is transferred to your DuoFertility Reader. This is done by simply pressing a button on the Reader and holding the Sensor nearby.
Once your data is transferred and processed you will be able to see a simple indication of when you are most fertile from the light-scale on your reader.
Furthermore, if you wish to, you can record a wide range of fertility clues, such as cervical mucus? quality or ovulation pain, which helps to create an even more accurate picture of your cycle.
The Reader is available in a wide range of colours and is designed to be discreet so that it is not recognised as a fertility monitor.
DuoFertility PC software
The DuoFertility software allows you to see your fertility profile and temperature graph in greater detail as well as allowing you enter more detailed fertility clues and related information. To run the software simply plug your reader into your home computer (PC or Mac) using a USB cable (provided) and click the pop-up box to launch the software.
With the DuoFertility software, you can:
- View or print a graph which shows the changes in your temperature during each menstrual cycle?
- Record additional information, such as fertility clues and details of any infertility medication that you are taking or alternative treatments that you are undergoing
- Enter data retrospectively
- Show your fertility chart to your doctor to get a swift referral to an infertility specialist if required
Using the DuoFertility software and your internet connection you will get automatic updates to the Reader analysis software (so that estimates of your fertility become more accurate), as well as sending your data to our Cambridge fertility centre for further analysis.
