DuoFertility Study 1
DuoFertility finds that one in three women trying to conceive incorrectly recognise their body’s fertility signs
1 in 6 British couples now face problems conceiving, so maximising the chances of natural conception? by identifying precisely when ovulation? occurs is critical.
A new study by DuoFertility showed that 73% of British women that are trying for a baby are tracking their ovulation to help them conceive and that of those 93% of them use their fertility clues as indicators of it. However, the study also revealed that over a third of women trying to conceive do not know how to recognise their body’s fertility signs adequately.
In particular, they do not seem to know which body signs are related to ovulation: many indicated that “increased appetite” was a common fertility sign, for which there is no scientific evidence. The most common fertility clues are changes in the cervical mucus? quality or ovulation pains.
The findings of the DuoFertility study are aligned with a study published recently in the American Journal of Human Biology that had indicated while a majority of women thought they knew when they ovulated, most were incorrect.
The DuoFertility study was conducted by a survey of 180 women anonymously, using a questionnaire in October 2009.
