Monitoring My Ovulation

Monitoring your ovulation will help you to identify your most fertile days. This will allow you to time your love-making around ovulation, thereby increasing your chances of getting pregnant.

Monitoring your fertility levels relies on the accurate identification of ovulation.

Most methods rely on women being willing to make their own daily observations routinely and accurately. The two most common methods for detecting ovulation at home are:

  • Hormone based urine test kits. This method measures LH (lutenising hormone) levels in the urine, and consists of test strips that must be dipped in your urine. These tests can be used to estimate the possible date of ovulation, but cannot confirm that ovulation has occurred.
  • Body basal temperature (BBT) charting. This method detects the small increase in body temperature that occurs around ovulation and can confirm that ovulation has occurred. Before the development of DuoFertility, traditional methods of measuring BBT required early morning temperature measurements and complicated BBT charts to complete and interpret.

DuoFertility eliminates lengthy manual temperature charting, early morning measurements and the inaccuracies associated with traditional methods.

DuoFertility will display your fertility status for the next 6 days, giving you plenty of time to plan romantic evenings. You will also be able to visualise your temperature charts in detail on your computer, thanks to the DuoFertility software. And most importantly, you will have fertility specialists reviewing the data with you and advising you on how to maximise your chances.

Dr Petra Frank-Herrmann, a world expert on ovulation detection and natural family planning, explains how measuring BBT together with recording cervical mucus quality is 99.7% accurate at identifying your most fertile days.

Using DuoFertility allows you to conveniently and accurately measure your BBT, with the option of recording the quality of your cervical mucus and other ovulation signs in order to improve the accuracy of detection.

In the study conducted, Dr Frank-Herrmann stated that couples trying for a baby could use these methods to improve their chances of conception - this is now possible with DuoFertility!
