Unexplained Infertility

By definition, unexplained infertility refers to couples for which the medical community has not been able to identify the cause of the infertility. This makes it particularly frustrating for the couples as they do not feel that there is much that they can do.

What are the treatments availiable for unexplained infertility?

In most cases, the couple will be offered 1-3 cycles of IUI and if this not successful, it is generally recommended to go for IVF. This doesn’t mean that these are the only methods that can help you get pregnant, many patients fall pregnant naturally as well.

If you have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility, DuoFertility can provide you with the same chances of pregnancy after 6 cycles as 1 cycle of IVF. Monitoring your cycle to understand when you are most fertile has been shown to treble your chances on getting pregnant every month.

The general recommendations about trying to conceive are particularly important:

  • Monitor your cycle and make love when you are fertile.
  • Stop or reduce smoking and drinking.
  • Do some moderate physical activity.
  • Ensure that you get plenty of vitamins in your diet.
  • Try to reduce your stress levels.

Not all women ovulate on day 14, so many couples are wasting valuable time by planning intercourse when they are not most fertile. DuoFertility can identify your fertile days with up to a week ahead and confirm whether ovulation? has occurred or not– and that can make all the difference in the world according to Dr Ferguson. She says “several of the DuoFertility users have managed to get pregnant within a couple of months of discovering that they were ovulating a bit earlier or later than they thought. It can be that simple!”
