DuoFertility is a new system for ovulation? detection, which uses temperature data to monitor your fertility and predict when ovulation will occur, helping you plan intercourse for the times when you are most fertile.
DuoFertility makes measuring body basal temperature (BBT?) easy and convenient - no more early mornings!
DuoFertility makes measuring BBT easy and convenient - no more early mornings!
Body basal temperature is the resting temperature of the body. During the night, while you are sleeping, your internal body temperature slowly drops, and then increases as you wake up. The lowest temperature reached is called the basal (bottom) point, hence the name.
Temperature is a reliable indication that ovulation has occurred. This has been known for many decades, but until now a woman wanting to chart her temperature had to wake early every single day. DuoFertility uses the latest technology to make this inconvenience completely obsolete.
How is DuoFertility better than other BBT methods?
The major problem with existing BBT methods is that women have to take their temperature manually when they wake up, whereas measurements should actually be taken one hour before you would normally wake up as temperature need to be recorded while you are in a deep sleep in order to be accurate. The best approximation with current methods is to measure your BBT as soon as you wake up, which leads to inaccuracies in data measurement since the act of waking by itself will increase your body temperature. Taking your temperature in the morning for a few minutes is not enough to get very precise data, because the chance of a small temperature variation occurring during the reading is high.
DuoFertility solves this problem by measuring your temperature continuously which allows it to directly determine your body basal temperature. This is why the data obtained from the DuoFertility device is more accurate than normal measurements. The DuoFertility system also collects up to 20,000 measurements per night, and therefore the quality of the data is less affected by small temperature variations that might prevent you from accurately identifying your fertile window.
Crucially, a woman using BBT methods will have to wait 2 to 3 days before she knows that she has ovulated - too late to try and conceive that month. DuoFertility will record approximately 20,000 measurements every night, and the beauty of it is that you are not required to do anything other than adhere to your usual sleep patterns. DuoFertility’s system of automatic and continuous measurement means that you can forget about it most of the time, but also that the measurements taken are a lot more accurate. You will often get an answer ‘on the day’ allowing you and your partner to try for a baby secure in the knowledge that you are at your most fertile.
DuoFertility provides you with accurate measurements of your BBT which will tell you when you have ovulated, leaving you with enough time to try to conceive that month.
