get your life back with DuoFertility
If you are unable to conceive naturally, DuoFertility will allow you to get an early referral to a specialist. By measuring your temperature and other physiological parameters, we will be able to compare the details of your cycle to those of other women in our data set. And if, after a few months we notice that your cycles are exhibiting unusual features, our team of GPs will be able to write a report to your GP suggesting a course of action.
All of our GPs are fertility experts and are experienced in interpreting these graphs, so it is probably easier for them to spot a potential problem than your personal GP. We ensure that all the data that we provide you with is in a format which your GP will find easy to understand. So if your GP is a fertility expert, he or she will have all the information necessary to help you.
Helping your doctor to help you
You can use the PC software to print out a summary of all the data you have collected, along with a short description of the data using medical terminology with which your doctor will be familiar. You can do this by selecting “Print my data for my doctor”.
Some doctors will be familiar with the display of the DuoFertility data, in which case all you will have to do is print out your cycle data. With the information provided, your doctor will be able to advise you whether to undergo further tests, or recommend that you keep trying for a bit longer if everything looks “normal”.
Other doctors are less familiar with the DuoFertility system and might recommend that you proceed to the “Doctor Report System” on our website. If this is the case, you will need to upload all your data to our servers (encrypted, so your identity is kept confidential), and one of our doctors who is very familiar with the system will provide a personal report to your doctor giving his/her opinion about your situation.
Speeding up the diagnosis of problems
The DuoFertility system may help you to detect problems with your menstrual cycle?. If after 4 months, you have not detected any changes in your temperature across your cycle, you should visit your doctor with the DuoFertility data, and discuss the possibility of assessing your hormonal levels. By doing this, your doctor will have detailed data about your fertility cycle and will be able to refer you for further treatment if the signs indicate that you have some form of infertility.
For example, if, after comparing your cycles with our database, you notice that your luteal phase is too short, you may consider consulting your doctor as a short luteal phase might not allow enough time for implantation of the fertilised egg?. Variations in temperature data can also indicate whether your progesterone levels are constant during the luteal phase. If this is not the case, you should consult your doctor, who will check the levels of progesterone in your blood during the luteal phase.
If after 6 months, your cycles indicate regular ovulation and if you have recorded the dates of intercourse occurring during the fertile window and yet you have still not managed to conceive, this might indicate an underlying infertility. At this point, you should consider visiting your doctor as a test can be performed to assess the problem. It may be due to Fallopian tube blockage, in which case the sperm is not able to meet the egg, or it may be that your partner has a low concentration of sperm. You doctor will be able to advise you on your options.
