Why is using DuoFertility better than using a hormone-related method to monitor my ovulation?

DuoFertility uses the body basal temperature (BBT) method to identify the small increase in BBT which coincides with ovulation. Many competing fertility monitors, such as Clearblue, use a hormone-related method to detect the surge in luteinising hormone (LH) that coincides with ovulation.

We believe there are four reasons why you should use DuoFertility rather than a competing, hormone-related method:

• BBT is the only method which has been scientifically proven to confirm that ovulation has occurred.
• Many doctors recommend the hormone-related method on the grounds that the BBT method can only confirm that you have ovulated retrospectively. This is not the case with DuoFertility. While DuoFertility relies mainly on BBT for its analysis, it also uses a number of other factors such as cervical mucus quality and mood in its analysis.
