Entering fertility clues in the DuoFertility Reader

Besides displaying your fertility status, the DuoFertility device allows you to enter in a range of common fertility clues using the scroll wheel and the central button. Entering fertility clues such as the quality of your cervical mucus and the presence of ovulation pain as well as factors which are related to your general well being, such as sleep disruption and illness may help to increase the accuracy of ovulation detection to 99.7%. These common fertility clues are represented by the icons on the reader. However, if you decide not to enter in use any of these icons to enter in common fertility clues, the technology behind DuoFertility will still identify your fertile days with an accuracy of 99%.

Information about each of the icons on the reader is shown below.

Read Icon	When the data has been successfully transferred from the sensor to the reader, the read icon (the DuoFertility logo) will flash green, and a few seconds later your fertility status will be displayed on the light scale.
Menstruation? Icon	Using this icon to enter in the first day of each of your periods will help the DuoFertility system to learn about your cycle more quickly. You can enter in the intensity of your menstrual flow from the first day of your period on the DuoFertility reader by using the scroll wheel.
Intercourse Icon	Using the intercourse icon to record the times when you have had intercourse for a few months will provide your doctor with a clearer picture of your cycle. This will ensure that your doctor will get all the information he needs to refer you to a specialist if necessary.
Illness Icon	If you are feeling ill, your body temperature may be affected. It is therefore advisable for you to select the illness icon each time that you are ill.
Cervical Mucus Icon	Cervical mucus is a fertility clue that can be used to complement the temperature measurements taken by DuoFertility. You can enter in the amount (and quality) of your cervical mucus by using the icon on the left.
Sleep Icon	DuoFertility's temperature readings may be influenced if your sleep has been disrupted due to factors such as insomnia, being woken up by young children in the middle of the night or working irregular hours. We therefore recommend that you select the sleep icon whenever your sleep is disturbed.
Ovulation Pain Icon	Some women experience slight discomfort in the abdomen? around the time of ovulation. You can enter in ovulation pain as a fertility clue by selecting the ovulation pain icon. (However, it is important to remember that abdominal pain may be due to a number of other factors and does not necessarily correspond to ovulation.)
Star Icons	The star icons can be used if you wish to enter in additional common fertility clues which are not pre-programmed in the DuoFertility reader. Examples of additional common fertility clues which you may want to record include results from hormonal test strips, and libido?. You can enter this parameters by using the DuoFertility software.
Cancel Icon	If you have entered something into the DuoFertility reader by mistake, don't worry, you can easily cancel it by using the cancel icon!
